- CFM partners ag acted as exclusive financial advisor to Bantleon AG (“Bantleon”) on the acquisition of a 62% stake in Credit Suisse Investment Partners (Schweiz) AG (“CSIP”) from UBS.
- CSIP is the convertible bond specialist of Credit Suisse Asset Management. The firm has a track record of more than 15 years. It manages assets of around CHF 1bn in 5 investment funds.
- The long-standing minority shareholders of CSIP will keep their 38% stake in the business, while in the future, CSIP will operate under the name of Bantleon Convertible Experts AG.
- Bantleon is a leading German-Swiss asset manager. As a result of the takeover, which is still subject to approval by FINMA, Bantleon's assets under management will increase to around CHF 24 billion and assets under administration to around CHF 38 billion.
- “Credit Suisse Investment Partners is probably one of the best convertibles managers in Europe in the conservative segment. This gives our clients maximum expertise at the right time. Now that interest rates are back and the equity environment is positive, convertible bonds are highly attractive”, explains Bantleon CEO Stephan Kuhnke. The company expects ‘considerable growth’ in this area in the coming years.
